Stop the laws that changed journalism. There is little or no fact checking. Years ago you could be sued if you broadcast any information that was not factchecked. For the last several years we get news that is not news but fake news not facts. You have to do your own fact checking. The censorship is unbelievable on both legacy media and social media. Repeal the laws that changed journalism and lying to American citizens. Make it where it bevomes eventually a part of the Constitution where it can never change. The Truth information Act giving huge fines if news is not fact checked.
I propose a the law that mandates 4 categories on news. Each category name must appear on the right side of all printed or visual news in bold underlined. They would be the following categories:
Raw
- Fact checked
- Non Fact checked - have 3 days to fact check or front page bold this could not be fact checked. A public apology and retraction with truth that it could not be fact checked and a fine of $1,000,000.00 for publishing for each time published. If broadcast multiple times a day, a fine of 1M each time, tv, radio. If printed as in newspapers or magazine or post, 1M daily if more than 1 day or post. A public apology and retraction for each publication. All monies goes to kitty for public broadcasting for only factual news for Government to buy time to publish truth .
- Opinion News - If any opinion news is used for politics it must present both liberal and conservative news with equal time. 1M fine if not done so.
- Satire News - if political it must present both liberal and conservative for each article. With 1M fine if not done so.
If a news commentator is taught name calling publically its a automatic 1M fine by the news media and a reprimand publicly.
If social Media and the owner of said social media publishes any news on politics must abide by the same rules on categories. This aligns social media in the same category of news publications. This allows owner of social media to publish their opinions but under the same guidance as all other medias.
The rules for podcasts are always opinion and if political must dictate they conservative or liberal. The rules here are different but can not be owned by a National broadcasting, newspaper, social media firm and are only streaming.
All of the above can be amended to a higer amount by law but minimum must be 1M.
Any news or opinion news political both unfact checked or nonfacted checked must abide by ethical standards of no name calling of a political party or individual, 1M fine for each event. This fune includes opinion shows broadcast both live and taped, radio and rebroadcast. Example is the view.
Politicians must be under professional decoram. Any politician caught name calling on news of any sort is under a professional decoruam. A fine of $10,000.00 for each event name calling in verbal or written form. If published or verbal its one fine only. Automatically removed from their salary. This is federal only not state politicians. This guidance is also for any staff of politicians, cabinet or advisors. The decorum of Federal political politicians must be professional and the individual decorum of our leaders.
All journalists/commentators/opinion broadcastors by public owned business or ownership like major networks, all newspapers must have a license to broadcast. They must undergo 8 hours continuing education each year and 12 hours of education initially. Each journalist has a registered number by for each individual with a central national licensing over seer. Similar to the NMLS system for mortgage licensing for mortgage companies and mortgage companies. To be recertified each year by November 31 of that year for the following year. Rules of decorum of proper journalism especially political must present both sides or don’t print or broadcast. Fines of 1M if not done. The education is to be on so many hours on Truth, fact checking, journalists rules, decorum and journalists laws. An FBI check must be done initially to get license for being a journalist / broadcaster for any public or private owed newspaper, tv station, radio. Along with the 12 hours education initially. Thereafter CE classes 8 hours annually and every 3 years FBI check.
