Jobs for Non-Disabled Government Assistance Recipients

In another policy proposed on here (linked at the bottom), there was a proposal to put people to work that are currently receiving welfare and/or other forms of government assistance. I would like to put a little more thought towards this topic.

Our government currently employs 3,000,000 people federally (Source) and another 19,580,000 at the state and local level (Source). Of these approximately 23 million workers, a large portion are employed in some form of a clerical and/or data entry role. These positions could be filled by non-disabled as well as some disabled (if they desired) welfare recipients. These roles could primarily be accomplished remotely and would not require a commute for those with no transportation and/or mobility issues.

This would benefit us on a couple levels.

Firstly, this would allow non-disabled welfare recipients a path towards employment and positive contribution to the country as a whole.

Secondly, this could offset the total cost of either welfare distributions or clerical salaries, depending on how you look at it. This would cause a massive reduction in spending at all government levels on the first day of implementation.

Original Policy:

Perhaps changing the title may remove some confusion. I meant this in regards to all forms of government assistance; Welfare, SNAP, WIC, Cash Assistance, Medicaid, Housing Vouchers, etc.

As far as how people able to work get into this system, I have a family member that is in a 1-income family supporting 2 adults and 3 children. My family member can work, and has a degree, but chooses not to willingly. That family receives an extensive amount of government assistance on a monthly basis. They qualify due to size of household compared to reported taxable income. Situations like these are exactly what I am trying to remove.
