JD Vance can serve as VP and SML at the same time.
John Adams did this at one point.
This would give the Trump Administration the ability to move quickly and be more in control.

I do not know enough to say yes or no for sure. I would worry that we would be giving too much power to one side or the other. Me personally, I hope they get everything done as fast as possible.

John Adams was VP in 1789-1797. According to Senate records, the first Senate Majority Leader was Arthur P. Gorman (D-MD) in the 53rd Congress (1893–1895)

VP Vance needs to be active throughout the term on multiple fronts. His participation in the “wins” of this administration will be key in 2028 and beyond.
