Whatever powers / policies were used to authorize Halliburton to win no-bid contracts to essentially rebuild Iraq could be directed towards disaster relief. If we’re going to spend billions to rebuild a foreign country, why not do that for our own country?
I dont have 500 words to really flesh this out because i dont know what the steps in the process would be. Im suggesting that we essentially piggy-back off of whatever policy/policies were used for the rebuilding of Iraq. I see others posting about disaster relief as well, with the idea of bringing in the private sector. I think this is the apparatus that would facilitate the unleashing of the private sector with regards to disaster relief.
