International Fuel Tax Agreement

Abolish IFTA tax on motor carrier operators. IFTA tax forces operators to pay fuel taxes to states they operate in. It removes fair competition on fuel prices when the state knows it doesn’t have to compete in a fair market to collect fuel taxes. Example, a trucker operates in FL, GA, NC and SC, they must pay a state tax on the miles operated in each state. Because each state has different tax rates and different fuel rates, the operator either has to pay a higher price for fuel in that state or pay the extra tax each quarter
