We should have all inclusive insurance coverage for integrative medicine and holistic (biological)dental care . My vision includes proper integrative medical and dental testing and treatment integrated together. (We are a whole body) no segmentstion, that is not considered out of network. We also need the insurance to cover vitamin drips, ozone treatments, ultra violet light blood irradiation, hyperbaric chamber. Or ANY treatment that will help including paying for vitamins or something that can replace the harsh prescriptions for appropriate levels. We should also have a center that takes all the integrative treatments and test for effectiveness and educates Drs globally as to these types of treatments and Saftey protocols should be investigated as many people need to be detoxed from the harmful prescriptions, metals etc, that were forced on our society. We need to totally reimagine the medical world to do what’s right for the people!!
Nutritional and fitness programs should also be included some conditions like high blood pressure and even type 2 diabetes can be treated successfully with these interventions with no or very limited medications
Agree-Integrative, holistic and ‘alternative’ medical care should be the first sad primary care we receive-not drugs & injections from the allopathic community.
I can relate to this proposal as integrative medicine is my first option whenever I need care. However, we should not expect others to pay for our preferences. The alternatives have not yet proven themselves to be cheaper and more effective than the options covered by insurance. Rather insurance should cover general wellness and promote health, not necessarily specific disease treatments.
That said, money in HSA should be available to cover any medical treatment that the owner chooses. Perhaps that need to be available more broadly and coverage expanded.
Health insurance premiums are sky high as is, no need to add more “required coverage” that will push them even higher. Remember, whatever they cover we are all paying for and, once a service is covered by insurance, the price of it tends to sky rocket. People should adopt health lifestyles and diets, stay fit and stop looking to the gov to mandate us to pay (thru the premiums we pay) for others to use untested and unproven “treatments.”
