Insurance Consumer Bill of Rights

The insurance industry is destroying people’s ability to own real property. Because they pull coverage in flood and fire zones. Consumers should be protected from loss if they pay premiums, period. If insurance companies drop customers, they should be forced to return all past paid premiums, or at least a fair measure. As it is now, the consumer is ripped off by the first insurer when the policy is dropped. The next company takes a big deposit, then soon also drops the policy. People can’t buy or sell homes without coverage. This has to have a terrible effect on the economy, people, and the housing and commodities markets. A few simple rules and consumer protections could halt the abuse they are suffering at the hands of an out of control insurance industry.
