All US Citizens, regardless of age, formally diagnosed with Type One Diabetes (which is defined as being insulin dependent) should have free lifetime access to injectable or any type of Insulin. This access should available and guaranteed regardless of whether the person has private or any type of medical or prescription insurance. Alternatively, if this recommended policy is too cost prohibitive, a cap of $35.00 (thirty five dollars) per month should exist to cover whatever quantity of insulin is required to ensure the person diagnosed with Type One Diabetes is able to live their life without fear of having to limit food ingestion due to a lack of insulin access. Additionally, a similar free availability and/or expense cap of $25 per month max on all accumulated related diabetic expenses (i.e. needles, alcohol swabs, CGM devices, and insulin pumps to name a few) should be implemented to ensure the afflicted individual has adequate monthly supplies to survive this disease the entirety of their lives.
