Driver’s education does not adequately prepare or equip most people to be a safe and effective drivers in our country today.
Any sensible driver that has driven in highly populated areas would immediately recognize that there are an abundance of people that operate their vehicle in an unsafe manner due to a variety of factors, one of the major ones being a lack of comprehensive training.

Every year, millions of US Citizens are killed because of motor of vehicle accidents, and that number is on the rise. Operating an independent vehicle should be a privilege that is earned through successfully demonstrating all skills required to do so safely and effectively. Only then should someone be granted legal licensure to operate their vehicle on public roads.
Some topics that must be mastered before a license is granted:
- Traffic sign recognition
- Parking
- Highway merging
- Roundabouts
- Order of operations at intersections
- Basic vehicle maintenance
- How to interact with law enforcement at traffic stops
- How to interact with auto insurance in the event of an accident
- Special driving zones (school, construction, etc.)
- Available alternatives to driving when unable
- Techniques to combat road rage
- And more!
This skillset must be demonstrated on a regular basis (every few years or so) in order to maintain legal driving status.
With this change, we can hopefully see the risk to life while operating a motor vehicle decrease year over year and a side-effect would also likely be an increase push to improve our country’s public transit infrastructure.
