I know that it was just brought to the states authority for abortion laws, but some states are not including rape and incest in their abortion laws. I do believe that abortion should be monitored and should not be used as a form of birth control for people who don’t take pregnancy seriously, or for people who decide to have unprotected sex irresponsibly knowing the circumstances of doing so and using abortion as a way out when they become pregnant. The woman who go through an extremely traumatic, terrifying experience by being raped by either a family member or by a stranger should not have to carry that baby to term. Not only is it a constant reminder to the woman of the traumatic experience everyday but also, if raped by a family member, birth defects are much more likely. If the woman does decide to carry the baby to term then that is her decision, but if she decides that she does not want to carry the baby that originated from a truly horrifying experience and share something with the person who put her through that for the rest of her life then she should be able to not do that.

I proposed a comprehensive policy that allows a federal exception for rape/incest and other exceptions that states sometimes don’t cover.
Would you please consider it?
FYI - the very first paragraph summarizes the whole idea, and the actual content of my proposal comes after a few disclaimer paragraphs/my MAHA letter.
