I believe we should incentivize lower college tuition by limiting student loans to those attending institutions that charge tuition in the lower 50th percentile for all institutions (public and private). From 1977 to 2024, college tuition rose by 1,513%, experiencing an average inflation rate of 6.1% per year, which is almost double the overall inflation rate of 3.56% during that same period. The federal government is partially the culprit for this, because of the ability for students to not have to economize based on tuition. They can afford to go wherever they want because the federal government will ensure that they can borrow money in order to pay for the cost.

College tuition should be free for everyone born in this country.
I am a naturalized citizen and in my home country and many countries over the world, college is free for their citizens,
I know for a fact that colleges here give a grant to students of third world countries. I also know, when students from these countries take the SAT exams and get high marks, they get full scholarships to any college they wish to go to. I am not sure who funds this but I have friends whose children got these scholarships.
The standard of education has dropped in colleges here over the past 20 years. Foreigners get more from this country than citizens here. First we have to improve the content taught to students here to ensure they are more qualified for jobs than foreigners.
