All immigrants found to have come here illegally should be forfeit from receiving legal immigration status with acceptions made only for small children under the age of 18 for which the ability to legally immigrate to the United states at a later date should still be possible. Immigrants who come here illegally should not be allowed the privilege of applying for legal immigrant status since they chose to try and steal it first rather than go about it the right way.

I am a retired immigration officer. There are over 25 million illegal immigrants. Where they came legally or illegally if they are currently illegal they should have not path to Permanent Residency or Citizenship. Perhaps some in between that allows them to be here. But they can then easily be removed.
