Housing Crisis and Mortgage Requirements

A policy should be set in place that would cap or totally disallow corporate purchase of houses, and land not intended for the use of farming. The mass purchase of farmland by china needs to be outlawed or they need to be taxed so highly they wont even want it, but if they do the country will still be benefitting. There needs to be a cap on how many rental properties one person can own. All private lenders should be required to consider unemployment a source of reliable income for seasonal employees whithout requiring two years in a row, as it is garunteed income during temporary lay off during the winter months. People dont always get laid off two years in a row and this shouldn’t be an issue. It is far too difficult for seasonal workers like teachers and trade workers in states with colder climates to get home loans, because of the income requirements regarding seasonal lay off. These people play such an important role in this country and shouldnt have to struggle to buy a home when they make 40k+ annually. Lenders also should not be allowed to require a higher credit score than the loan type requires, such as an FHA loan. Anyone with a score of 560 or higher should be able to get their first motgage as long as they meet the income requirements and can prove steady work history.

Love it… affordable housing should be a human right. Wealthier property owners are living a parasitic existence off of the working class. The market is fixed due to consumer credit, laws, and zoning restrictions. Families will pay the high rent and go into debt for other expenses. Homes that are converted into rental properties degrade neighborhoods
There is usually no pride of ownership.

Definitely need to cap foreign corporate ownership of farmland and repeal subsidy for corp entities who buy farmland but do not farm!
