The United States education system is so broken, that new adults have no idea what the history of this country is about. It makes no sense that new immigrant citizens know more about our great country than those born here. The citizenship exam needs to be required of every high school graduate in order to preserve this Constitutional Republic from stupid ideas like Socialism and Communism.
Students will be better equipped to take on woke and moronic professors in college if they choose too attend.

I can see adding a requirement to pass a standardized test for Graduation, it should include reading comprehension, basic Math Skills, Basic science, and Civics - a Basic understanding of our country.
But NOT for voting. Literacy tests were designed to “ensure that voters understood the issues at stake in the elections”. Who was required to take them was up to the local election officials. Tests were often designed to be impossible to pass and only given to people that the officials wanted to restrict from voting.
Look them up there are several examples on line.
That was the whole intent of such tests, the VRA 1965 eliminated all such requirements.
Unfortunately even stupid, mentally handicapped, ignorant, and racist people are allowed to vote.
Is what we need to do is improve the education of our citizens, so there are no stupid or ignorant people left to vote, and hopefully we will out number the rest.

You hit the nail on the head. I was going to reply with the same information, but you already did – so good enough. It comes down to student exposure over an extended period of time. We need our younger generation EDUCATED on the fundamentals of our Republic once more. They need to read it, study it, take tests on it, write essays on it, have mock session arguing for and against public action, field trips to governmental institutions, the whole nine yards. We need to provide them all of what they need, so that when they hit the voting booth, the first thing on their minds is not some libtard indoctrinated propaganda from a socialist radical public school teacher, but rather, a formal understanding of how America was built, how it works, and what we must do as Americans to keep it. Amen.

I loved Home EC classes, the girls made school ties for all the boys on the football team. Taste testing the cookies.
I almost wish I had signed up for the classes myself.
