I am writing for behalf of 90% of Americans who have herpes hsv1 or herpes hsv2. Hsv1 which 90% of americans have, yet there is still a stigma around this virus. Making life a nightmare everyday for us who suffer. 10 years ago I contracted hsv1 genitally, from someone who did not tell me they had this virus. A cold sore changed my life forever, and I ended up getting it on my genitals and my mouth. I used to be the happiest person ever, and for the last 10 years I wake up everyday mentally ill, living my worst nightmare. I cut off all my family and friends , and hide away in the darkness with the worst mental health and social anxciety… i cant even work a job because my mental health is so bad. People with this disease contemplate suicide everyday, the only thing keeping my alive is knowing im not alone& people have a story like mine & my faith in god to cure me and make me a testimony. And before anyone is mean, just remember 1 in 2 people have hsv1 and 1 in 4 have hsv2, you could get it any day! And your kids could get this any day! Please everyone lets protect our kids and our future and cure this disease!!! Please vote and get trump ans RFKS attention, and please share your own stories on how herpes has ruined your life.

I highly doubt that the prevalence of HSV is anywhere near that claim, you probably have a underlying immunocompromised condition which prevents normal clearance of the virus.
a quick google search does not yield real measured infection rates. there are 4 people in my household and by your metrics 1 of us should have herpes, none do. Also your statistics do not hold up well in general for the broader population. I know hundreds of people, and not 1 of them has herpes. I suspect this is predominately a vaccine side effect being masked as a viral outbreak because the older people in my age bracket simply do not have herpes in any meaningful measure. We also had substantially lower rates of vaccination. Also herpes is related to chicken pox, and almost everyone my age got chickenpox naturally and it may be why rates are substantially lower.
and I still think this data is highly suspect and from promiscuos urban populations that have high unprotected sex encounter’s. IE it is not representative of the global or even domestic population. I would not be surprised to hear of rates this high in inner city ghettos areas however.

Its not bullshit. 1 in 4 and 1 in 6 is a lot of people. And just because you go around ignorantly asking people if they have herpes, they probably are not going to tell you because of the stigma and clearly your attitude towards this virus. Instead of voting on this and advocating for a change you want to be an asshole. I hope you and your family never get humbled by this disease , statisticaly you know someone you love with herpes. Also i dont come from the ghetto i come from a very rich household. My moms a nurse and my dads an engineer. Yeah i do, and im sure if you got cheated on and got genital herpes you also would need serious mental health. I hope this disease that 90% of people have never finds you or your children, god humbles people so be kind!
Those of you who don’t want themselves or their children or their children’s children to be affected by this in the future break the stigma and vote for a cure . This is not something you can just get from having unprotected sex. You can be raped sexually assaulted or brushed against and now you have a disease. That simple and easy to contract. You can have sex one time and contract it . It’s almost like stepping on a landmine.It’s unfortunately the luck of the draw. We have to stay informed about HSV. Generations to come need proper sex education on this matter as well. Knowledge is power and with that comes preparation and protection. I believe that if HVS was on the standard STD panel the stigma would be less severe. In the next coming years HSV should be on the standard STD panel followed by a cure. Since it’s extremely contagious regardless of the precautions you take to protect yourself and others . Not to mention it being a silent killer causing major depressive episodes and suicidal ideation. There needs to be a change no one deserves to live like this for the rest of their life. Please continue to share this information in order to break the stigma and a cure to end the virus as a whole.
Please don’t feed into the negative things these people are saying they just want a reaction don’t give it to them. They are obviously ignorant or can’t come to terms with have HSV. Don’t worry about informing them. The tables will turn if they haven’t already. Sending positivity!
I was , i said i was in a serious 3 year long relationship… i was legit 20 years old… my partner cheated on me of three years and i contracted it. It was not my fault. I was careful, we used condoms also but guess what a cold sore gave me genital herpes. Your rude & wrong. Humble yourself
Thank you. People are very uninformed… you could get herpes by shaking someones hand ( herpetic whitlow ) which is a societal norm! Hsv1 and 2 can present itself anywhere on the body where the virus comes in contact with.
Sharing drinks, lipgloss, store makeup testers, resturaunts, sharing blunts, ciggs… sharing anything… touching a shopping cart where herpetic whitlow could have just touched.
Also it can be anywhere on the body, so ya lile u said brushed upon you as an open wound.
God forbid one of these ignorant peoples children ever get this virus, or someone kisses their baby with one. There kids wont even feel safe disclosing to mom and dad.

I believe you are talking about two different animals here: Herpes Zoster vs. Herpes Simplex. One is much more common than the other. Lots of people get fever blisters on their mouths but few of them get genital herpes. Nevertheless, once RFK cleans house and chops down all the waste, we will have lots of resources to cure both conditions, I am sure. Hang in there!
Try taking lysine. My dad had cold sores and he swore that if he took lysine every day, he didn’t get them. If he stopped taking it, the cold sores would come back. Then he would take multiple lysine pills and it would clear up quickly. I have also heard there are certain types of foods that trigger outbreaks. The most important issue is to use zeolite powder in water on an empty stomach to get rid of heavy metals that compromise your immune system. My immune system started working properly again after I used zeolite to remove aluminum, mercury, lead, and arsenic. I know herpes is a body drain. The only people in our family who got shingles are the ones who got cold sores.
Herpes simplex 1 . The strain i have is herpes type one, but unfortunatley i have herpes type 1 on my genitals… so cold sores on my genitals & also my mouth. Thanks susan xo
Thank you Nancy! I have heard lyseine helps. I dont get outbreaks often, its more the stigma and the fact that i get hsv1 cold sores on my genitals that has made me mentally not ok. But thank you for this advice
I’m sorry. I have friends with herpes and it definitely does change your life. Work on building up your immune system and managing stress which also drains your immune system. Maybe there should be a dating site for those with herpes, so you don’t feel the social stigma as much.
Unfortunately, there is currently no cure for HSV-1, which I have had since I was 10 years old, when I experienced my first cold sore. Additionally, I have had chickenpox twice and herpes zoster, so I truly understand the challenges of living with these conditions. I am now 42 and have been managing this for many years.
