I was under the impression that “Farm to Table” was a good thing?? Maybe they are not interested in promoting healthier, local sources or reducing the size of the carbon footprint.

Personally, I think local Farm to local Table is a great thing for local economies, local food systems, local communities, and local farmers. Clearly, much needs to be done to get back to a sustainable “Farm to Table” model that is regenerative and profitable, and not some pseudo “farm to table” where a “farm” halfway around the world produces, processes, packages, and ships the food that ends up on our tables some weeks or months after it has been harvested.

Great information, regarding a better way of disposing of trash, batteries, etc. I lived in Japan for 4 years and was amazed at the recycling program there. They recycled EVERYTHING. I wondered why we don’t do the same. I could easily see a concept where we have strong recycling programs, and then compost food waste, would result in very little trash, but we would have to change an entire culture also. There would need to be incentives or in Japan penalties.

Completely agree! We must figure out our waste problem. I wonder if there are any policies on this.

GMOs should be eliminated and farmers should be albe to save their seeds for planting. Organic and regenerative farming should be encouraged. Eliminate subsidies for GMOs and perhaps other crops. If there are subsidies, they should be for farmers to convert to organic regenerative farming.
