OTC hearing aids have proven to be ineffective, and hearing aids are often among the top five most significant expenses in a person’s life. Although social programs and third-party insurance can provide assistance, they often limit the technology available and make it difficult to find providers who can manage the low profit margins associated with these programs.
I propose that individuals diagnosed with hearing loss and fitted with hearing aids by an audiologist should have their hearing aids be 100% tax-deductible.
