I have seen many posts in this forum arguing why something cannot be addressed properly because its “at the state level” or “at the county level”. Perhaps we might find a way that we CAN address our grievances by creating a method and a means that DOES directly threaten state and local tyranny, and restore freedoms and liberty at all levels of government. Below is the policy proposal…
We might consider the formation of a non-governmental non-profit (hopefully publicly-funded) body of Constitutional lawyers and state attorneys whose sole function is to identify the top # (ie: 50) state/county/municipal governments’ most common, negatively-impacting, egregious actions brought against the American People and start building class action legal cases against all identified states, forcing them to rewrite laws that are antithetical to the Constitution and/or the Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness of the American People. Such a temporary organization could operate for a set number of years, under a sunset clause, and resolve many of the issues that the American People currently experience at the state and local levels.
The notion that the American People cannot resolve any serious issues being orchestrated at the state level, because the Federal government is not allowed to get involved, is simply unacceptable in my opinion. For example, the current “seizing of homes” by county governments for state-invented debts magically assigned every year, should seriously be examined as lawful or even acceptable to the American People. It is done in every state and county…a class action might be considered stopping counties from denying the American People the right to be secure in their own homes. This could be fought legally at the state or county level, advancing it to the level of the State and Supreme Courts, if need be. Without harping on the example stated, I think that if we run such a “clean-up” of over-regulation and liberty-destroying activities at the lower government levels, for a specific period of time, we could remove a lot of government waste, overbearing control, and unAmerican behavior from our nation. Identify the greatest impacts for the greatest good first, and then work our way down. If we found our way to build this great nation, then we can certainly find a way to clean it up.
