Gun Control

People seem to propose the notion that guns don’t kill people, people kill people. There also is an immense discussion regarding people who suffer from a debilitating mental state are most lethal in terms of obtaining a firearm. I personally couldn’t agree more. however, we’re still not entirely on board with how to proceed in addressing mental health concerns in regards to how it affects the safety of the general public. so i’ve put together a list of ways that we can keep our children safer while as to not put more guns in the hands of people who never signed up for that. i’ve never purchased a firearm, so i’m not entirely certain on how the whole process works. Full disclosure.

  1. on top of a background check, i believe that purchasing a firearm should also require a valid driver’s license and up to date medical records. i personally don’t believe that anyone with any form of substance addiction should be allowed to own one. and if you have a DUI, you don’t have a valid license. and any form of addiction or mental illness would be documented in medical records.
  2. i also think that anyone who will be using their firearms in a recreational manner should be mandated to also have their permits available and easily accessible. no person can legally drive without a license, i don’t understand why a person should be allowed to operate a firearm without proof of legal purchase. because of probable cause, this will also limit the sale of illegal firearms on the black market.
  3. there will be no ban on any previously purchased firearms, but any dealer should have the right to refuse service to anyone who fails to comply with the above standards.
  4. i also believe that there should be a free safe included in the purchase of a legally obtained firearm to limit the accessibility of anyone who’s deemed unsafe or dangerous to operate.

let me know what you guys think!!

Everything you’re mentioning is unconstitutional.

I’m sure you mean well because you’re not advocating for bans and confiscation. BUT what you’re suggesting is still unconstitutional.

The title of the second amendment reads “shall not be unfringed.”

That means that no regulation is to be imposed on the American people to bare arms.

If your interest is to keep children safe, I’d say take a look at my proposal to create a federal agency who’s entire job is to protect schools.

I’m also going to be typing a proposal to study the effects of anti depressants long term and effect and relation it has with school shooters and whether or not doctors are influenced by big pharma to prescribe them like candy to children when other factors such as diet and their home life situation could be improved.

All in all the second amendment is a right, not a privilege. Any regulation enacted by local governments or the ATF is in its pure essence an infringement. Our founding fathers very intelligently set this as a safety mechanism against tyranny.

A criminal is not going to obtain a weapon legally… The only thing this would do is prevent law abiding citizens from being able to protect themselves and their families. More guns equal less crime. believe it or not.
for example: A guy walks in to a movie theater with a loaded gun pointed at the people in their seats. If 1/2 of those people are carrying, that shooter will not make it long enough to hurt anyone.
now: Same guy, same Scenario except this time he walks into a movie theater and no one in the audience has a gun. its a slaughter.
