Verifying agencies and their employees are held accountable for their positions would be an easy process. Similar to ISO 9000, I would like to see auditors, independent from agencies and departments, conduct internal and external audits to ensure credibility and effectiveness of government agencies.
In a country, priding itself on “For the People, By the People” Auditors should be from the latter group. Results and finding should be public record to ensure each agency and department within, operate according to the standards set and established by the individual agency. Each agency and department associated would be responsible for spelling out each operation of their policies and processes. Independent auditors can easily determine if agencies and departments are saying what they do and doing what they say.
Independent auditors should be accountable to The People. When agencies and their departments have nothing to hide, there should be no opposition to being audited. Pride in the agencies missions and the success thereof, should be restored in the United States of America. As a world leader, the United States of American should stand out as effective and efficient.
The consideration of Sensitive Information is a priority. Auditors, who reach such levels, should be vetted, protected from agencies, and above suspicion. At no time, should an individual take part in any audit where there is a connection to the agency, person, or any person which could bring findings into question.
