GLP1 medications

Insurance companies need to maks GLP1 medications more affordable! Or fully cover these medications. Insurance companies should not be able to decide if you “need” a medication if a doctor prescribes it,then it should not be up to insurance!!!

I have been on compound tirzepatide for 3 months paying $200 a months. Bc i am so concerned about them being taken away i got a prescription for saxenda and wegovy approved by my insurance. BUT they won’t pay any of it until i meet a $8000 deductible. So i would still have to pay &600-$900 a month to get the name brand! why is this fair? My insurance covers 100% :100: f prescriptions but this is not considered "Preventative " … why isn’t it? I realize i could eat better but im a busy mom on the go so fast is usually my only option and im 45 years old. much of the damages is done and we need these! i’m down 22 pounds and this makes me want to eat healthy and work out. I can’t explain it not to mention helped my PCOS. It’s been so great yet i have this fear it’s about to be taken away. Why are companies charging so much when telehealth can create compound for so little? why won’t my insurance cover it like other medications? why why why. Not to mention wegovy is only in stock at 1 pharmacy is NC cvs.

Another point that needs looked into is why the doctors are not in charge of what needs covered but yet the insurance is? seems backwards to me if my doctor prescribes it clearly he thinks i need it and automatically should be covered.
