Get Rid of the De Minimis Rule to Help U.S. Online Shopping

The de minimis rule lets items under $800 come into the U.S. without paying taxes. This is hurting our American online businesses. Here’s why we should get rid of this rule:

Key Reasons:

  1. Fair Competition: Right now, foreign sellers, especially from China, have an unfair edge. Removing this rule would help American businesses compete better.

  2. Protect American Jobs: Cheap goods coming in without taxes are hurting U.S. jobs. Ending this rule would help keep jobs in America.

  3. Safety First: Many low-cost items are unsafe or fake. Stricter rules would mean better quality and safer products for everyone.

  4. More Tax Money: If we get rid of this rule, we can collect more taxes on imports, which could be used to improve our economy.

  5. Better Security: With fewer untaxed items coming in, customs can do a better job checking what enters the country, making it safer for everyone.

  6. Help Local Businesses Grow: By reducing the number of cheap foreign goods, American online stores can grow and offer more choices to shoppers.

I think it would be best just to say it’s time for China to be out of our country. No more buying property no more selling goods. Either put a 10,000% tariff on everything that is imported that can be produced in the United States that includes food, or just say no more imports. But the pharmaceuticals China doesn’t have to ever put boots on our ground if they want to go to war with us all they have to do is stop sending antibiotics, blood pressure, medication and heart medication
