Many people do not want to take away health freedom.
However, I see some freedom being taken away with abortion procedures.
In order to resolve this issue, a policy which requires that full transparency and consent must be provided.
Transparency and consent include"
Providing detailed information about the procedure for the mother and fetus. This includes if there will be pulling off of limbs of the fetus. This includes if there is any research showing that pain is felt at this stage of the fetus.
All information regarding what has been found to be the state of the fetus at various ages. Such as heart beat, able to feel pain, etc.
Any risks to the Mother including internal bleeding and possible death. Just like medication and other procedures require risks to be provided for consent.
In addition, all options or solutions must be provided just like patients are provided the options for other conditions. Such as they may have surgery or they may go to physical rehabiliation, they may receive injections or pain medication etc. Options or solutions to abortion are various types of adoption (closed or open), non profits that assist mothers with services, economic assistance resources, counseling resources, religious resources etc. These should all be provided with a reasonable waiting period to also consult with these resources prior to a final decision being made.
Many people regret having an abortion years later. They feel they did not have all the information or resources and would make a different decision. Abortion should not be described as a simple vacuum procedure that dislodges a cell. This is not accurate at most stages of an abortion. Most people would be horrified to know that limbs were torn off intentionally during the procedure etc. This reality may be painful but it is important that the Mother knows that is what is happening.
