Many veterans feel as though they were lied to about the Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq. The “Material Breach” of UN Security Council Resolution 1441 was used, in part, as the justification for military action in Iraq, yet no Weapons of Mass Destruction were ever found. We lost many good men and women in Iraq to include many civilian casualties. This is an egregious breach of trust and I would like an investigation of the actions leading up to the invasion of Iraq, the intel on the WMDs and what the government learned about the WMDs in the days and years post invasion.
Many veterans feel that they were lied to in the wake of 9/11. This contributes, in part, to the military recruiting shortages that we are facing today. Breaches of trust such as this can only be corrected with truth and reconciliation.
