Formal Civics/Government Education

Make Civics and Government class a requirement in High school and College that thoroughly explains how the entire U.S. government system works, especially the legislative branch so that we do not as adults say ad infinitum to get rid of lobbying.
But beyond the branches of government and the checks and balances, they should teach on existing laws and existing agencies and how they interact with the three branches of government. The class should not whitewash how laws or appropriations are made but get everyone on the same page so we can have logical discussions when we need to propose a change and not be lead only by activists.

If i may add, A 1 year class on Constitution and federalist papers study class. Know the constitution by heart and how it applies to federal, state and local laws. Know where the federal Government stands in correlation to states. What the federalist papers are and how they apply to the constitution and laws and society today. which furthers your point on everyone being on the same page as far as Constitutional foundation and compares to other countries “Constitutions” or governmental foundation.

These classes should also be taught to new members of congress and senate and anyone holding a government position( maybe though online classes) PRIOR to them taking their oath of office so they can be held accountable for decisions made concerning finances and budgets, citizens rights, new laws, anything effecting the citizens, on behalf of the citizens they represent.
