The use of insect flour and other by-products in food products is increasing and currently food labels do not disclose it in the packaging. I propose that all food packing prominently display the use of any insect byproducts by an easily recognizable name (ex. Cricket Flour) so that consumers are aware of the content of the foods they are purchasing. The packing should also include any possible allergens related to those ingredients in case people are not aware they may react to ingesting them. Also there should be “purity” tests for those insect by-products.
