Felonies expunged 10 years after Prison

If a Felon has been out of Prison for 10+ years and have no additional misdemeanors or Felonies they should have the Felony expunged so that they can vote and buy Guns legally.

Other changes can be added like Sex Crimes and Violent Crimes not included or have to wait longer or something.

But if they’ve made it through their Prison Sentence plus 10 years and are no longer in trouble with the Law they should get a real 2nd chance to have a normal life.

I would like to vote and buy guns again cause poor people like me cant afford to get a Lawyer to get it expunged.

You are not alone. There are many of us that , just because of lack of finances at the time, was not able to hire a competent attorney on an offense that, in a fair system, would not be considered a crime.

Why should a person that had a bad experience decades ago be unable to protect his home, family and property when they have never been in a violent situation?

I agree that this should not apply for violent or repeat offenders.
