Federal Spend Tax

A new 1% federal spend tax on all things to be directly used against the US debt. This will help offset the lost revenue for the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. This new tax can only be used against the debt and would be considered a mandatory spending not accessible for any other spending.

It would need to apply across the board to everything someone would spend money on, from buying stocks to a candy bar at the store to insurance payments.

With the average American spending habits it’ll amount to $772 from each person. This will generate $130,000,000,000 total towards the debt yearly. Americans who can’t afford to lose 1% of their income can reduce their spending habits by 1% to offset the lost income.
