Federal service workers

When we join the military, we give up certain rights. Federal service workers should give up their right to vote in federal elections in order to join the federal workforce.

@bryanlharris - I think this is a really compelling idea. I was once a fed, and I’m a military spouse, but I can see how voting could represent a clear conflict of interest for these populations.

That said, I don’t think feds nor service members shouldn’t have a voice, but maybe something like making them each a compartmentalized electorate, sort of like a “state” of their own? That way you still see their voice in the popular vote, and they still can have some influence in a smaller (but arguably balanced) subset of delegates.

I recently looked at federal employment data as a heat map, and the majority of federal workers reside in Virginia, Texas, and California. It’d be interesting to seek how such a system would shift the vote in those states.
