Federal law that requires employers to provide 6 weeks of paid maternal and paternal maternity leave per child born or adopted. For twins or triplets an additional 6 weeks per child is granted. The paid leave is at 100% of earned wages.
Countries including France, Germany, Australia, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Brazil, South Korea, United Kingdom, and Japan have federal law for expecting parents with an average of 18 weeks of maternity leave.

I think it should be a federal mandate that maternity and paternity leave is equal to what we in the military get. Both mothers and fathers get 12 weeks of non chargeable leave with full benefits weather the kid is born or adopted.
