To stop the ever increasing student debt crisis at the expense of taxpayers, Federal financial aid should work closely with the Department of Labor and only approve financial aid for students who are getting degrees in fields that have been determined to be industry shortfalls or in high-demand. It would prevent students from using financial aid to aimlessly study through a university amassing debt before getting a general studies degree.
Or something similar to this. Bottom line, before money is given out to students, we need to ensure it’s going to an area of study that will benefit the US Economy, including skilled labor certification.
