FDA approval for Testosterone for women

When is the FDA going to approve testosterone treatments for women? Women make more testosterone in their bodies and they make estrogen. A lot of women suffer from low testosterone, but because it is not FDA approved insurance will not cover.
My husband’s insurance covers his testosterone injections.
Fun Fact: Women’s bodies make more testosterone than estrogen.

A lot of men suffer from low testosterone, and it is usually not covered by insurance either.

Sounds like the problem is with the way we need insurance to access health care.

i have to pay out of pocket for any of my HRT’s, as well as a doctor that will prescribe them. My husband however does not have to pay out of pocket for either. Because most doctors don’t want to learn & truly treat any stage of menopause. Therefore insurance companies don’t see it as a necessity for women.

Male Testosterone is created in a Male body by the foods he eats, More Importantly by the foods he avoids completely. Men should not eat any food or drink with High Fructose corn sugar products. Nor any SOY Bean Products.
Remember the G,P,S, eating rule Avoid GRAINS, Processed foods, and SUGAR for one Month.

Men naturally produce Testosterone buy eating a Red Meat diet. Try the Caveman Diet.

My husband has taken testosterone shots for years and insurance covers it.

Yes! My husband’s insurance pays for his testosterone.
I had to pay out of pocket for mine.

My husband’s testosterone was only 120 when he found out and started taking the injections. Some men’s bodies stop producing it, just like women.
Women actually make more testosterone than estrogen.
Mine is very low and affecting a lot more than libido. Low testosterone can affect the brain and many other areas.

I’m not really sure where you found that out at. A quick Google search shows women do make testosterone but a much lower levels than men. Y’all really can’t have low testosterone but you can have high levels.

Women make only about 1/20th of the amount of testoserone that Men make, and most of what they do make is converted into estradiol, a form of estrogen.

It is often not covered by Medical Insurance because it is often deemed “not medically necessary”. But different insurances and how/why your Doctor prescribes it, can affect if it is covered, since other cheaper modalities exist to help with many issues.

Women have lower testosterone than estrogen and it is produced by the adrenal glands and ovaries. I believe you have to be careful with Testosterone because it can also be converted to Estrogen and at a higher rate in the breast tissue. Those with certain risks may not want that effect. Testosterone is important however because it does drop at certain times in a woman’s life. It should be allowed for trial because some women do are not going to be converting all of that DHEA to testosterone. I believe that the FDA has approved Testosterone for women for low libido but not for other things so that is the Caveat. I believe that perimenopause, and menopause, and other endocrine disorders that the full spectrum of fluctuations should be reviewed and personalized to the woman. I also believe that Neurodivergent women are being largely ignored in medical models and none of the phenotypes are being properly cateloged as comparitive baseline models. This is horrendous what Women are going through—we have inadequate hormonal care, Nuerodivergent testing was originally designed with male bias, Neurodivergent women can have different Mast cell behavior, different ways of perceiving information, different metabolomisms, different neurotransmitters, and more and we are being systematically treated as outcasts and we spend to go to a doctor to be told, “I don’t Know”. This is not ok and its everywhere. We do not have adequate access to psychological care at all. This is a Tragedy and it can be solved.

Nicotine has an impact on the conversion of Testosterone to Estrogen as it is an aromatase inhibitor; however, it is addicting and horribly impact bone health. Other aromatase inhibitors exist and I bring it up for women who are trying to prevent the rapid conversion. Some women have estrogen resistance genes and estrogen can have a nightmare impact on Mast Cells and can impact Serotonin and can contribute to the release of Histamine and some also have Histamine Intolerance…This problem can then impact the Mitochondria. Now if you are neurodivergent you want to be careful with Serotonin and Histamine and Estrogen for some Phenotypes.

*Aromatase Inhibitors are not perfect either because -you don’t know how long they last and then you have the problem of indirect targets …some things you want Aromatized some you don’t and some you want aromatized only intermittently. You don’t want to long term aromatase inhibit which is why I am concerned about this promotion of Nicotine everywhere and other products with these sorts of properties. Bone health is important, its no joke…So many people I know who accidently use long term aromatase inhibiting products that inhibit aromatase wind up with broken bones.
