With the rise of political violence I’m proposing that we expand the definition of hate crimes under the law to include “political affiliation” any act of violence perpetrated based on race, gender, sexuality, religious beliefs, or political affiliation to be deemed a hate crime

Political affiliation needs to be added to the protected classes. With political violence on the rise, there is no law that protects political beliefs.

Actually I’ve never been a fan of the so-called “hate crime” legislation. The only purpose it ever served was to open the door to censorship and tyranny. Take a look at the UK and the EU. Not only can your social media posts be removed for “hate” but people are systematically being arrested and charged for “hate speech.” This was always the goal. Those in power being able to remove you from society if you challenged their decisions.
