Direct Primary Care is a monthly membership medical practice that provides low cost care directed by the physician without the intrusion of insurance companies. It provides longer visit times, direct contact with your physician and better healthcare. This model is quickly growing and should be expanded as a competitor for more affordable primary care. DPC practices can partner with businesses to provide lower insurance costs to companies as well. We should expand this for primary care as well as increase specialty care and surgical direct care options as well. This involves cash pricing which is much lower and transparency for costs. Insurance should go back to being mainly for major medical expenses which it was originally intended to do. It should not be used as an all included plan as it has evolved to be currently as this drives up medical costs.

Can DPC accept Medicare patients? It’s a big problem where doctors would see them but can’t because they have Medicare even if they’ll pay out of pocket
