End Two Party System and Campaigning/Campaign Funding

I don’t speak very eloquently but these are thoughts I have had for a long time. Maybe others have input?

I don’t see any reason why we need a two party system any longer. All it seems to do is pit citizens against one another. I feel like we have a lot more in common than we realize and just want a decent human to represent our country. I don’t see any reason anymore why labels are necessary.

Our leader should be able to run and be voted for based on their integrity, intelligence, experience, history and education; and not by how big their bank account is or by special interest funding they receive.

Billions of dollars are spent on campaigning simply to put a human on a plane so they can go on months long vacation, print some signs and make some shirts. A huge amount of money that could be used to help the poor, homeless, unfortunate and animals in our country. A good person doesn’t have to yell in your face to tell you they are a good person. Actions always speak louder than words.

Instead of full blown campaigning, each candidate gets four pages to describe why they deserve your vote. The first page will be introduction and bio. The second page is their proposals/promises. The third page will be for stances on issues, what their beliefs are including important morals and values. Fourth page is for accolades, qualifications and experience. Sound familiar?

I’m required to write a resume to obtain a decent job, it’s time that people who want to lead our country submit their resume to us!

It gets mailed to everyone. Shared on social media. Shown on local news stations. Maybe posted in local coffee shops. That’s it. No jet planes. No commercials. No media blitz. No special interests. No rallies. No campaign fund-raising, and if funds are raised the candidate gets to decide which humanitarian effort those funds are directed to. Oh and if any news outlet wants to speak on a candidate, what they say must be factual or they get fired. Simple as that.

If citizens feel a candidate is worthy, they will make their own shirts and signs and campaign on their behalf. It’s time we expect our leaders to be good people and lead with actions and not money.

Im sure there is a ton more that needs to be done and probably better ways to do things; but things simply need to be done better. Again, I am not a professional writer or thinker, please be nice. However I am a creative, neurodivergent, autistic American and I hate inefficiency.
