End plastic subsidies

The U.S. spends over 800 MILLION dollars annually on plastic subsidies. These subsidies interfere with consumer demand for healthier product packaging solutions.

Consumer demand for plastic alternatives has grown significantly. Conventional plastics break down, spreading microplastics into the environment. This causes cancer, DNA damage, and other long-term health effects.

Despite increased consumer demand for plastic alternatives, the market fails to reflect it. Plastic is always the cheapest.

With over 800 million dollars in subsidies, plastic gains an unfair advantage in the market, all while harming human health.

Food and products packaging alternatives should be given a fair chance to compete in market.
