Since the inception of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employer provided health plans have become unaffordable. Premiums are higher and deductibles are upwards of $7,000 and out of pocket maximums of $11,000 annually for family plans. Having a health condition can cost a family over $20,000 a year to maintain between premiums, deductibles and out of pocket expenses.
