End frivolous lawsuits

It amazes me that people overlook the most expensive thing in this country. Every product and service that we as consumers purchase is more expensive because of insurance premiums. If half of the cost of your visit didn’t have to go to cover their malpractice insurance, that visit would be less expensive. Homeowners insurance, liability insurance, car insurance, any type of coverage is more expensive because of someone being awarded $1,000,000 for spilling hot coffee on their own crotch. I understand that if you suffered because of someone else’s negligence that you have a right to sue. But the amounts being awarded are out of control. This in turn drives up the cost of insurance. This has to be passed on to consumers. I am tired of paying for people to get a big fat check (which their lawyer likely took a third of) just so I can get the products and services I want. Maximum payout should be no more than two years of the average US salary. $Million+ payouts are not acceptable.
