End Corporate Personhood

Strip the corporation of its right to personhood.

The downsides of corporate personhood include:

  • Undue Influence: Corporations can exert significant influence over politics, particularly through campaign financing, as seen in the Citizens United decision, which raises concerns about the impact of money in politics.

  • Lack of Accountability: It can be challenging to hold corporations accountable for wrongdoing, as penalties often affect the corporation rather than individual decision-makers.

  • Economic Inequality: Corporate personhood may contribute to growing economic inequality by allowing corporations to prioritize profits over social welfare, influencing government policies to reduce taxes and regulations.

Rather than throwing it out all together it needs trimmed, in my opinion, as well as getting rid of the term “corporate personhood”.
There are some protections in the constitution that should apply to businesses. For example: due process, protection from unlawful searches and seizures, right to a speedy trial (though they’d probably rather drag it out), and no cruel or unusual punishments.
