Eliminate the Legal Immunity of Big Tech Social Media Corporations

The Problem: Big Tech social media corporations, such as Meta (formerly Facebook), Snapchat, and most namely our friendly neighborhood Chinese spyware, Tik Tok, deliberately run algorithms across their platforms with the intent of controlling what specific content and information is shown to the majority of users. What’s the big deal? The problem here is that these corporations essentially hide behind the content of their users to further their own political agendas. The even MORE problematic bit of this problem is that when then confronted with this deliberate brainwashing approach, these corporations then fall back on an old Supreme Court decision of the 90’s stating that the hosting corporation is in no way, shape, or form responsible for the content uploaded to it. See the paradox?

Indiana Senator Todd Young, a wonderful man, sent me an email in response to an inquiry of mine regarding the legal immunity of Big Tech social media companies.

While we have indeed seen some positive legal action on this front this year, we have a long way to go as of yet. Senator Young briefly explained the Protecting Americans from the Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act (which was in fact passed into law on April 24 of this year). This act essentially forced Tik Tok’s parent corporation to sell Tik Tok within six months, or lose access to operating within the United States.

This was truly a step forward on the Big Tech battlefield, but it does not solve the glaring problem of legal immunity. We hold exclusively news oriented media responsible to their own word. If the New York Times were to make a false claim against a private citizen, they would lose in court and be sued severely. However, with a Big Tech corporation, they can make any claim they like by peddling harmful information created by its own users, thus dodging any responsibility.

It’s disgusting, and it’s illegal.

Will you vote to put an end to this abuse of immunity, and to hold these corrupt corporations responsible for the content they’re hiding behind?

Would you continue to have your voice suppressed while these Marxist owned companies shine their spotlight on those who represent their own agendas?

Will you defend our beloved Freedom of Speech, or keep watching it wither away before our eyes?

It’s up to you.
