Is there a way to have property taxes end for people that have paid off their mortgages? Or stop at age 60? Or just have property taxes just be a one time expense at the time of purchases? It is insane to me that this tax goes on and on and that municipalities still come back for more and more. No one ever truly owns their home. We may pay off our homes but still always pay “rent” in the form of property taxes. Our homes should be an asset to us but are always less of an asset due to never ending taxes. There has to be a better way to fund municipalities for services cities provide.
