Eliminate Low Income Infant protection Wage Requirements

With the current status of the economy there are many struggling families. Inflation has sky rocketed specifically in regards to electricity, and many families are being threatened with their power being shut off.
Those who have infants are not supposed to be threatened with this, as the well-being of their child would be at risk. However in order for the electric companies to accommodate this, not only do you have to provide your child’s medical records (birth certificate, statement of birth etc) but you also have to qualify as a low income family. If you make “too much money” you’re ineligible for this assistance.
This assistance does not reduce what you owe, nor does it forgive any money it simply allows the power to remain on despite financial difficulties. No one should be worried about having their power shut off because they’re too strapped to pay hundreds of dollars a month but make too much money to have a protection plan in place for them.
This Bill in its essence would ensure any and all struggling parents have the option to receive infant protection from electric companies.
