Eliminate local ISP Monopolies

Internet Service Providers have been enabled to offer terrible services at an expensive price point because there is not enough competition in certain neighborhoods. You only have one true option.

They may claim there is another option but if their competitor is only offering 15 download & 1 upload for $50 when I can go over one block that has access to fiber and get 500 download and 500 upload for $39 a month.

Some areas only offer low download speeds with no competition. Therefore, customer service is awful because they know I can’t leave for a different company. There isn’t an option at a better option. ISPs have no incentive to create a better service with better speeds at a better price point.

The solution is to allow multiple ISPs come in and have access to the same lines to provide better internet for neighborhoods. Allow customer service and price point to see who gets my business not just the one I am stuck with. Not just AT&T for this neighborhood or Spectrum in the other.

I am happy that Elon is creating alternatives using satellite but I believe for a better America, we need access both to fiber lines and satellites to take big steps in the technology age that we are in. Both areas need to continue to grow. Allow competition with ISPs in local neighborhoods to create better services and opportunities.

This is a very important point!

Agreed. Also - the fiber lines themselves were often subsidized by government.
