An elimination of the income tax would put more money into teachers’ pockets and help them to take care of their families. We make a smaller salary compared to most of the professions out there, and yet, teachers are the reason anyone is able to do their jobs. Where would anyone be without learning to read, write or do math? It’s about time teachers get the benefits they deserve and that should start with no federal income tax on their salary.

This kind of partisan focus is what’s actually stalling legislation. What’s good for one is good for many. Instead of hyperfixating on one small group policy needs to be aimed at a broader group. I support removing the federal income tax in a large capacity but no teachers aren’t more deserving than many other equally taxed professions. As Americans we really need to move away from the Me, Me, Me focus and start being We. I can’t vote yes on this because it’s only for one small group of people and they aren;t more disenfranchised than other Americans.
