It’s not a surprise that law enforcement has taken a hit over the last few years, from the defend the police movement to constant scrutiny of police and law enforcement in general. It is also not a surprise that there is a lack of interest for younger adults to want to be police officer’s and staffing of police agencies nationwide have taken a hit. As a police officer with first hand knowledge of the efforts departments have gone through to recruit new hires, it is obvious that the law before profession has lost its luster. I would suggest a no federal income tax on police officers as an incentive to potential new hires and for the retention of current police officers. I believe this would be an attractive effort to regain the pride of law enforcement!
