Common Core was the beginning of indoctrination. As a mother of a 16 year old, I have seen this first hand. My High Functioning ASD kid alerted me with his protests from an early age. Woke family had originally tried to convince me that this was a way to streamline education across the states. But my eyes are open now to how this was created to force kids to think one way, rather than helping them to think on their own - especially how to solve a math problem. OMG, I yield you all my votes.
I summarize the issue with Common Core math and writing, along with my top links, on pages 1-2 of this google doc:
No, the indoctrination began long before Common Core. The entire education system was designed around the Prussian model, which emphasized conformity and obedience. Standardized testing has roots dating back to Imperial China, where it was used to sort people for government roles. Woodrow Wilson himself spoke openly about creating two classes of citizens: a ‘liberal’ class to lead and a ‘working’ class to follow. He said, 'We want one class of persons to have a liberal education, and we want another class, a very much larger class of necessity, to forgo the privilege of a liberal education and fit themselves to perform specific difficult manual tasks.
