My worry with things like this is that openai was a not-for-profit :sweat_smile::sweat_smile:

It’s easy to flip the switch if suddenly there’s money or power behind it

Why I really think it has to be government-run (but open-source)

Americans need full transparency into their election process. The source code used in election machines for federal, state and local elections needs to be accessible to any American who wants to see it. Ideally, it should be made by a not-for-profit company.
