Either Welfare or Earned Income Tax Credit not both

Welfare recipients should receive either welfare - Food Stamps, Section 8 Housing, Obama Phone, etc services or they can receive their large tax returns not both.

Studies have estimated that welfare recipients need $60k a year to out pace the benefits they receive. Why are we allowing these recipients to double dip with these benefits and $15k tax refund?

True examples I have seen as a finance professional.

Recipient receives $15k tax refund, food stamps, and section 8 housing plus any other benefits I am unaware of. Recipient does not make more than $15 k a year and brags to me how she’s taking the her kids to Hawaii.

I would like to say this isn’t normal however, as someone who worked as a teller this is insanely common.

If you can afford her, cigarettes, and cable you can buy your own food
