Drug companies and or insurance companies have to pay costs for people that can’t afford the medication and the drug is not covered or affordable where people live in rural areas .

This is likely related to patents and costs of research on top of profit drivers. The discussion is a good one. The motivations for the high costs need to be uncovered and discussed. In addition, the need for the medications in the first place should be discussed. The type of care that people seek is important and needs to be expanded to include alternative care providers such as Functional Medicine Chiropractic Physicians and Naturopathic Doctors. The dependence on Pharm and no referrals from Allopathic Doctors to the Alternative Specialists drives the need for medications rather than resolving the health condition or making it more manageable and less dependent on Pharm. There are a lot of issues that contribute to people getting ill that can be addressed. There are also a lot of issues surrounding what makes medications expensive that can be addressed. I agree with looking into all these issues.
