DOGE Must End Corruption In Big Cities

President Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has a great deal of work on its hands to end excessive and unnecessary spending in the Federal government.

However, many of the problems facing millions of Americans every day have their origin at the municipal level. Many large cities operate with even more corruption and less transparency than the Federal government.

This is why it is necessary for DOGE to set up a Commission on Civic Corruption that will investigate corruption, waste, inefficiency and a lack of efficiency among city and county governments nationwide.

Findings of this Commission should be published in real time for maximum transparency. If alleged criminality is discovered, these findings should be passed directly to the relevant law enforcement agencies.

Far from interfering in local government, this Commission would shine a much needed light on severe problems in major cities that have led to unfair tax systems, increased crime and homelessness, open drug scenes, the closures of many small and medium sized businesses, inferior schools, dirty parks and a lack of affordability in housing.

The reports from such a Commission would be invaluable for local reformers and business leaders who are often stopped from achieving their goals due to intimidation tactics from municipal officials.
